outline the restocking feature enables you to restock refunded items directly through the merchant portal while processing your refund by toggling the restock option, the inventory quantity in your e commerce platform will automatically be updated after a return is processed automate restocking you can decide whether the restocking toggle is on by default for faster restocking of each returned item alternatively, if you prefer to decide on a case by case basis, you can leave the toggle off and enable it individually when processing each item for assistance in configuring automatic restocking, please reach out to us! selecting a restock location when restocking, you'll have the option to select which location on your site you'd like the items to be restocked to once the return is approved, it'll then be restocked to this selected location if you close returns through our api rather than the portal, you can send the same choice as restock location ref on each line item of the close returns api, and the location we restocked to is reported back on returns and webhook payloads see the api documentation for details restocking returns lodged in store when your team lodges a return in the portal, each item gets a restock location as it is added if the drop off location the customer returned to is linked to a shopify location, the item restocks to that location otherwise the item restocks to the location your workflow rules set, or to the location it was originally sent from your team can change this on any item before lodging the return we keep that location on the return when you process it later from the dashboard, each item is already set to restock where the store said, and returns closed automatically or through our api follow it too whether the item restocks at all still follows your account default disabling restocking if you won't need to use the restock functionality, you can request this to be disabled and removed from the pop up this means it'll be hidden when processing a return this is particularly useful if you don't use your ecommerce platform's inventory management and don't want stock accidentally added
