outline child return reasons are an additional feature that enables retailers to gather more specific information about why customers are returning items with this feature, retailers can ask customers additional questions when they request a refund this information is then synchronized with the return data visible on their dashboard setup navigate to the return reasons page click on the return reason you'd like to add a child return reason to and click on ' show child elements ' then, click on add child element a pop up window will be displayed, giving you the option to select the child reason element from a dropdown menu child return reasons child return reasons are return reasons that are secondary to the main return reasons after the customer selects a main return reason, the customer will then be shown a child return reason to help better identify why they're making their return child return reasons are often used to funnel the customer down a return reason journey to gather more in depth data follow the steps below to set up a child return reason select child reason from the type dropdown type in the child return reason name, add a return fee if applicable, and click save additional return settings block refund block customers from using refundid when this child reason is chosen and redirect them to another url require additional notes or images ask your customer to provide additional custom information or upload an image when this child reason is chosen feel free to add multiple child return reasons to parent return reasons to help add a greater variety for your customers and accumulate return data on your end extra notes while adding a child element, you have the option to request additional notes from your customers, enabling them to provide further details and information regarding the selected reason for the return once you click on ' add child element ,' select ' extra note ' from the dropdown menu and include a brief sentence requesting the desired information for instance, you can use a prompt like "please provide more details " image upload while adding a child element, you'll also have the option to request images of the products being returned from your customers this is particularly useful in visualising the product that is being returned particularly if the customer is claiming the item to be faulty once you click on ' add child element ,' select ' image ' from the dropdown menu and include a brief sentence requesting the desired image you'd like for instance, you can use a prompt like "please upload an image of the fault" you can request up to 6 images from customers per item you'll be able to view the uploaded image when processing the return on the item simply click the ' view image ' button to open the image provided by the customer
