overview payouts are payments made from refundid to the retailer when funds are owed back to the retailer this ensures retailers are made whole in scenarios where refundid has collected or temporarily held funds that need to be returned payouts are a key part of financial reconciliation and ensure accuracy across exchanges, instant products, and resolution adjustments when payouts occur payouts may occur in the following scenarios exchange upsell revenue when a customer exchanges for an item of greater value, refundid collects the additional amount (upsell revenue) directly from the customer that upsell revenue is then paid out to the retailer recorded appropriately for reporting purposes instant refund or instant exchange reversals if an instant refund or instant exchange is approved refundid has already direct debited the retailer the retailer later changes the resolution to a rejection refundid will return the debited funds to the retailer reverse any associated fees where applicable this ensures the retailer is not financially impacted by a resolution change bank account requirement payouts can only be made to a bank account to receive payouts, retailers must provide refundid with valid bank account details ensure those details remain current and accurate refundid does not support payouts to cards or alternative payment methods
