overview the shipbob integration creates a matching return in shipbob when a return is lodged in refundid this ensures shipbob can track the incoming stock and process it as expected at a high level, the flow is return lodged in refundid original order located in shipbob returned items matched return created in shipbob 1\) return lodged the integration begins when a customer lodges a return in refundid refundid captures the key return details needed to create the return in shipbob, including the order number the returned line items (including sku and quantity) optional return label tracking details (if a label is generated in refundid) 2\) original order located refundid then attempts to locate the matching order in shipbob this is used to improve return accuracy and, where possible, link the return back to the original outbound shipment this is especially helpful if the order shipped in multiple shipments the return includes only part of the original order if a matching outbound shipment can’t be located, the integration can still proceed the return will be created without the outbound shipment link 3\) items matched to create a return in shipbob, the returned items must be matched to shipbob’s inventory records refundid matches each returned line item using the sku, then confirms the sku exists in shipbob matches it to the correct inventory record combines quantities where the same sku appears more than once if an item can’t be matched, the return will not be created in shipbob (to prevent incorrect inventory being returned) 4\) return created refundid then creates the return in shipbob with your fulfilment centre the matched items and quantities a refundid reference id for traceability optional tracking number (if available) optional original shipment link (if found) the return will then appear in shipbob as a normal return record, ready for your warehouse team to process traceability (reference id) every shipbob return created by refundid includes a unique reference id in this format \<ordernumber> \<standardreturnid> for example 525681 891831 this makes it easy to trace the shipbob return back to the exact refundid return the standardreturnid is a unique refundid identifier that helps differentiate between multiple returns on the same order what this gives you once enabled, the shipbob integration ensures returns lodged in refundid create matching return records in shipbob returned items are captured with the correct quantities tracking is passed through when available returns can be linked back to the original outbound shipment when possible
